MFBF has been in discussion with DAR to clarify requirements for farmworker housing under COVID and to facilitate more flexible requirements that are site and situation specific. To this end, DAR, DPH and Department of Career Services have revised guidance on farm labor housing requirements.  Please see the attached PDF documents linked below.

Farm Labor Housing providers will also be required to complete and keep on file  Attestation Sheet (see link below below) and complete a written Control Plan. The Guidance and the Attestation Sheet should aid in writing the Control Plan.

Farm Bureau has previously hosted webinars with the farm community and the agencies on this topic. If after reading the revised requirements you feel you would benefit from a webinar on this, please contact [email protected]
If you have questions on these documents or how to comply, please contact  michael.botelho@state.ma.us
**Note from the Agencies on the Revised Guidance and Attestation Sheet – The attached document, developed by MDAR, MDPH and MDCS, updates the guidance document for farm labor issued in 2020 and provides clear and updated information for farmers, farm families and their employees who work on farm or reside in farm labor camps during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The guidance document summarizes federal, state and local regulations as well as executive orders and best practices to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.  The guidance document also serves as a mechanism to ensure that laborers, hosted in congregate housing, including H2A and J1 visa workers are kept safe and are aware of safety procedures and protocols established by the host farm during the 2021 growing season.
