The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) 2.0 program was recently announced and includes expansion of eligible commodities to include several specialty crops and notably “any species of aquatic organisms grown as food for human consumption, fish raised as feed for fish that are consumed by humans, and ornamental fish propagated and reared in an aquatic medium. Eligible aquacultural species must be raised by a commercial operator and in water in a controlled environment.”  This would include mollusks and barramundi.

The CFAP 2.0 includes coverage for commodities with a price trigger and 5% or greater loss, commodity crops without data at a flat rate of $15/A.  The only commodities not included are hay (except alfalfa), other forage (sorghum), horses and companion animals.

Sign-ups are to start Monday.
