Agritourism merges travel experience with food and farming production and allows a visit to the farm to become an adventure. Many Massachusetts farmers are extremely creative with their income diversity and offer consumers access to farm stands, bus tours, corn mazes, bed and breakfasts, and more. However, these activities can create grey zones with local regulations and boards. As these issues have arisen, MFBF has worked with it farmer members to ensure they are well informed and represented on issues relative to agritourism. This is an ongoing topic that the organization will continue to monitor and assist its members with as laid out by MFBF’s policy priorities.
