Farmers are invited to submit nominations for the 2021 Barn Cat of the Year photo contest, with support from the Pet Food Institute. The goal of this contest is to bring awareness to the farm cat population in Massachusetts, who support our farmers through rodent control and their aloof companionship.
Entries are due Aug. 31, 2021.
To enter, please email Katelyn Parsons at email@example.com with you name, full mailing address, email address, a short bio on your cat that includes their name, age, and gender, and at most three photos of your barn cat.
For the 2021 contest, the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation, with support from Pet Food Institute, will recognize a grand prize winner as MFBF’s Barn Cat of the Year.
Prizes provided by the Pet Food Institute will include pet food gift cards, collapsible bowls, pet food scoops and potentially other items!
A panel of judges selected by the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation shall select the winners. Judging of the contest will be based on nomination materials submitted. Desired attributes barn cats are appearance/healthfulness, usefulness to the farmer and his/her family, personality, and independence.
Contestants agree that the sole and final judgement as to all matters concerning the contest and interpretation of contest rules are at the sole discretion of the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation, and their officers and staff.
Photos will be judged in the following categories:
- Best Dressed
- Best Mouser
- Best Cat Napper
- Most Chonk
An overall winner will also be selected.
