Brad Mitchell serves as the executive director for the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF), a non-profit farming advocacy organization representing nearly 6,000 family members across the Commonwealth. In this capacity, he oversees the programs and policies of MFBF, works with staff to assist members, and establishes and maintains relationships with like-minded organizations.
Prior to being promoted to executive director in June 2021, Mitchell served as the deputy executive director at MFBF. In this role, he represented the organization on Beacon Hill and spent much of his time helping members deal with conflicts with local and state regulators. He also formerly held the positions of director of public affairs for Monsanto, and director of regulatory services at the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. Aside from his work in the U.S., he has worked on agricultural projects in India, Nepal, and El Salvador.
Mitchell holds a master’s degree in public health from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in witting and publishing from Emerson College.
